Letter reads: "Sir, I desire upon my request you would pay unto Mr. Philips Roe or order the voiges that Catoe Negro & Jeremiah Cooper Indian shall make in the Brigg Whale Bone [Up]hale & Smith Master and in so doing you will much oblige your friend also the said Roe hath it in his power for to send another voige if he shall think proper [ ] for to keep them at home [ ] attest my hand, Brookhaven November 1st 1775, To Mr Jonathan Jenkins Merchant, Rich'd Miller"
