Summary
Assessment made "according to the directions of the statute entitled 'An Act for the Assessment and Collection of Taxes [of the State of New York]." Township assessment's were submitted to the Suffolk County N.Y. Board of Supervisors, with the following change in format since the 1810 assessment (the previous assessment in the LIC holdings): the first half of book lists residents (without descriptions and/or locality of respective land), and the latter half lists non-residents; as with the 1810 assessment, only the real property of non-residents includes description of their respective land, i.e. woodland, and/or locality, i.e. respective rights in the Montauk Peninsula, owned in tenancy
