Summary
Though Southampton was still a relatively sleepy town in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, the village was remarkably busy as well as shopper-friendly with two pharmacies, two hardware stores, two stationery stores, plus a newspaper store, two five and dimes, four grocery stores and a butcher!. Three longtime residents remember the way it used to be in the old days
