"The world is slowly coming around to the fact that the mid 1970s were, and still are, among the most exciting and innovative years in the entire history of Black American music. The dominance of disco in the second half of the decade often tends to obscure the really radical changes Soul and Funk went through in the first half. Very much a key part of this were B.T. Express, who controlled any and every dancefloor on the planet during 1974 and 1975 with their blend of hard street funk and string-driven proto-disco.
