Summary

It's 1995, and twelve-year-old hip-hop enthusiast Eddie Huang (Hudson Yang) and his family move from urban D.C.'s Chinatown to a lily-white suburban neighborhood in Orlando. His dad, Louis, tries to make his new steakhouse a success, while his mom, Jessica, aims to understand the culture clash and dominate suburbia. While his younger brothers surprisingly fit right in with their schoolmates, Eddie, who fancies himself as "all-American", struggles to gain acceptance. The family's pursuit of the American dream, all while trying to remain true to their traditional Chinese values, sometimes leads to conflict, confusion and misunderstandings, often with hilarious results
