This edgy rock-and-roll journey tells the story of Dean O'Dwyer (Thornton), a former DJ forced to abandon his turntables for a wheelchair after being paralyzed in an accident. A passionate young priest (Ruffalo) introduces Dean to the world of faith-healing and Dean soon discovers that he possesses the power to heal everyone but himself. Dean angrily joins a rock band (Bloom, Lewis, Linney) that tours the country exploiting his newfound gift. But his sudden notoriety leads to tragedy and ultimately changes his life forever
