Summary
This unprecedented documentary captures the events that precipitated the alleged murder of a Chicago teen. Filmed in the months leading up to his death, the film shows what and who actually contributed to it. Mute and afflicted with severe autism, Alex went from being a handicapped but happy adolescent to a sleepless, violent young man out of control. Gastrointestinal pain and inflammation lay at the heart of his problem. Failing to recognize this, successive doctors put him in locked restraints for over 70 days while, in spite of expert advice, they numbed his brain with dangerous psychotropic drugs. Helpless and beyond exhausted, overwhelmed by Alex's suffering, his mother and Godmother plotted his death and their own, unsuccessful, suicide
